Vanadium oxide surfaces and supported vanadium oxide nanoparticles

Topics in Catalysis, 2006
The information obtained from the characterization of vanadium oxide single crystal surfaces is related to the study of vanadia nanoparticles supported on silica and alumina thin films, model systems for the so-called “supported monolayer vanadia catalysts”.

Anodic oxidation of vanadium and properties of vanadium oxide films

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2004
Thin films of amorphous vanadium oxide have been prepared by electrochemical anodic oxidation. The phase composition of anodic films on vanadium has been shown to depend on the oxidation conditions (electrolyte composition, oxidation current, and time), and the stoichiometry can be controlled from V O2 to V2O5.

XPS studies of vanadium and vanadium oxides

Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, 1983
Abstract XPS (ESCA) measurements are presented of the X-ray-induced photoelectron lines and Auger transitions of metallic vanadium and of two vanadium oxides. The oxidation states of vanadium are compared and discussed for vanadium in the maximal valence state, with a 3 d 0 electron configuration, and in the state with a 3 d 1 electron ...
