GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

On unbounded solutions for differential equations with mean curvature operator [PDF]

open access: yes
summary:We present necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of unbounded increasing solutions to ordinary differential equations with mean curvature operator. The results illustrate the asymptotic proximity of such solutions with those of an

BMO in the Bergman metric on bounded symmetric domains [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
For bounded symmetric domains Ω in Cn, a notion of “bounded mean oscillation” in terms of the Bergman metric is introduced. It is shown that for ƒ in L2(Ω, dv), ƒ is in BMO(Ω) if and only if the densely-defined operator [Mƒ, P] ≡ MƒP − PMƒ on L2(Ω, dv ...

Nonstationary Venttsel problems with discontinuous data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The paper deals with Venttsel boundary problems for second-order linear and quasilinear parabolic operators with discontinuous principal coefficients. These are supposed to be functions of vanishing mean oscillation with respect to the space variables,

Synchronization‐Dissipation in the Cardiorespiratory System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By modeling central nervous coupling and viscoelastic interactions in the cardiorespiratory system we show that synchronization produces a 10% gain in cardiac efficiency in humans. It is surmised that respiratory sinus arrhythmia improves cardiac pumping efficiency by reducing dynamic stress and power dissipation in the pulmonary vasculature.

Flexoelectricity in Photoconversion: Fundamentals, Materials, and Outlooks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical bending of a flexible cantilever induces a strain gradient in the photoactive material. The resulting flexoelectric field couples with photovoltaic and photoconductive effects, modulating charge generation, separation, and collection. A comparative analysis of oxide perovskites, halide perovskites, and two‐dimensional materials is presented,

Numerical simulation of flow past a cylinder in orbital motion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A finite difference solution is presented for 2D laminar unsteady flow around a circular cylinder in orbital motion placed in a uniform flow for Re = 130, 160, and 180. Four cases displaying full lock-in are presented.

Interpolation between L∞and H1, the real method [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
The intermediate spaces in the Lions-Peetre method of interpolation, between the class of continuous functions vanishing at infinity and the H1 class, are calculated.

Bias‐Engineered Synthetic Antiferromagnets Hosting Sub‐20 nm Zero‐Field Skyrmions at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fully compensated synthetic antiferromagnet (SAF) multilayer exhibits a uniform state at zero field, without skyrmions. We use a SAF bias system to provide RKKY‐mediated exchange bias to the SAF multilayer, promoting zero‐field skyrmion stabilization and polarity control.

Unconventional Hysteretic Charge Filling in Moiré‐Reconstructed Helical Trilayer Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In helical trilayer graphene, sequential twisting reconstructs the moiré landscape into periodic domains separated by aperiodic boundaries. Longitudinal transport reveals sweep‐direction‐dependent hysteresis, while the Hall response traces this behavior to hysteretic charge filling at the aperiodic boundaries.
