MILP APPROACH FOR THE DESIGN OF VERTICAL VAPOR-LIQUID SEPARATION VESSELS- COMPARISON WITH HEURISTICS
In this article we compare results from different heuristics approaches for the design of VLE separation vessels. In addition, we present an MILP model that embeds the aforementioned heuristics and considers the discrete nature of the geometric variables. We show that different heuristics render different results.

Hydrodynamics of vapor-liquid flows in curvilined channels of separation devices of power plants
The main factor that affects the efficiency of the separation process is the lack of contact with the surface of the shutter when moving in the flow of small droplets of wet steam. This process depends on the physical and chemical properties of the wet vapor, the dispersion of the droplets, the parameters of the movement of the two-phase medium ...

Crossover in growth law in the vapor-liquid phase separation inside complex porous media
We employ molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the domain morphology and growth kinetics of a vapor-liquid system embedded within a complex porous medium. By systematically varying the pore structure, we analyze the scaling behavior of correlation functions, structure factors, and domain growth exponents.

Isobaric Vapor-Liquid Equilibria for Ethylbenzene + p-Xylene System and Separation by Distillation
Isobaric vapor–liquid equilibria for the ethylbenzene + p-xylene system at 40.00, 66.66, and 93.32 kPa have been measured using a modified Rogalski–Malanowski equilibrium still. Parameters for the NRTL equation are determined from the experimental vapor–liquid equilibrium data.

Effect of Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium Data on the Design of Separation Sequences by Distillation
An evaluation of the effect of vapor-liquid equilibrium experimental data on the design of separation sequences by distillation was done using computer simulation. Separation of a mixture of ace-tone-chloroform-benzene was chosen as an example problem. Two sequences were compared.
