The PEARSON CORRELATION ANALYSIS OF PRODUCTION COSTS ON THE LAND AREA OF SALT FARMERS IN BOLO SUB-DISTRICT, BIMA DISTRICT

open access: yesJurnal Inovasi Pendidikan dan Sains, 2023
Salt is broadly divided into 3 (three) groups, namely salt for human consumption, salt for salting and various foods and, salt for industry. In Indonesia, salt is widely produced by evaporating seawater on a piece of coastal land with the help of wind ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Average annual total costs (fixed costs plus variable costs) and average per patient costs, in 2013 USD.

open access: yes, 2015
ǂ Service volumes and fixed and variables costs were adjusted from 6 to 12 months to allow for presentation of annual figures.^ Variable costs are defined as costs that varied according to the number of patients seen and the type of service provided ...

Variable cost of ICU care, a micro-costing analysis

open access: yesIntensive and Critical Care Nursing, 2016
Intensive care unit (ICU) costs account for a great part of a hospital's expenses. The objective of the present study was to measure the patient-specific cost of ICU treatment, to identify the most important cost drivers in ICU and to examine the role of various contributing factors in cost configuration.

Bayesian Variable Selection in Cost-Effectiveness Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, 2010
Linear regression models are often used to represent the cost and effectiveness of medical treatment. The covariates used may include sociodemographic variables, such as age, gender or race; clinical variables, such as initial health status, years of treatment or the existence of concomitant illnesses; and a binary variable indicating the treatment ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
