Confinement and scaling in deep inelastic scattering
We show that parton confinement in the final state generates large $1/Q^2$ corrections to Bjorken scaling, thus leaving less room for the logarithmic corrections.

ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours

Blow-up solutions with minimal mass for nonlinear Schrödinger equation with variable potential
This paper studies the mass-critical variable coefficient nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We first get the existence of the ground state by solving a minimization problem.

Falling chains as variable mass systems: theoretical model and experimental analysis
In the present paper we revisit, theoretical and experimentally, the fall of a folded U-chain and of a pile-chain. The model calculation implies the division of the whole system into two subsystems of variable mass, allowing to explore the role of ...

ABSTRACT Purpose Pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors often recur despite multimodality therapy. Although re‐irradiation (re‐RT) has historically been limited by concerns for severe late toxicities, modern techniques have renewed interest in this approach. Proton therapy provides dosimetric advantages that may enable curative re‐treatment with

Prompt neutrinos from atmospheric charm in the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme [PDF]
We present predictions for the prompt-neutrino flux arising from the decay of charmed mesons and baryons produced by the interactions of high-energy cosmic rays in the Earth's atmosphere, making use of a QCD approach on the basis of the general-mass ...
