The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Photometric and spectroscopic variations of the Be star HD 112999 [PDF]
Be objects are stars of B spectral type showing lines of the Balmer series in emission. The presence of these lines is attributed to the existence of an extended envelope, disk type, around them.

Commission 27 : variable stars
: The study of variable stars has played a central role in astronomy for over 400 years, and more so in the present than at any time in history. Stars, especially variable stars, are astrophysical laboratories for understanding physical processes in the ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

TOPS Telescope Projects on Variable Stars and Other Objects
Teachers and high school students who attended the University of Hawaii's "Toward Other Planetary Systems" workshop in June 2002 gave presentations on introductory telescope projects on lunar photography, variable stars, and Messier Objects at the AAVSO ...

The pyruvate generator, which causes activation of respiration by extra‐mitochondrial Ca2+, is also present and functional in rat brainstem mitochondria, as it is in other brain regions. This finding is confirmed by experiments with a fully reconstituted malate–aspartate shuttle (MAS).

We discuss the study and classification of variable stars discovered as a by-product of searches for exoplanet transits' slight dimmings of stars by planets in orbit around them.

Variable stars in the Tycho photometric observations
We present an original way to detect variable stars in the Tycho photometric observations. A modified Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical test has been constructed, based on a model of most of the satellite's parameters, leading to the dispersion in the ...

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
