Circulating tumor cells: advancing personalized therapy in small cell lung cancer patients
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive form of lung cancer that spreads rapidly to secondary sites such as the brain and liver. Cancer cells circulating in the blood, “circulating tumor cells” (CTCs), have demonstrated prognostic value in SCLC, and evaluating biomarkers on CTCs could guide treatment decisions such as for PARP inhibitors ...

VARIABLE STARS IN THE 50BiN OPEN CLUSTER SURVEY. I. NGC 2301
The current work is the first contribution from the 50 cm Binocular Network, whose primary goal is to systematically detect and characterize variable stars in Galactic open clusters.

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

This study demonstrates that KRAS and GNAS mutations are more prevalent in patients with resected intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) compared to those under clinical surveillance. GNAS mutations significantly differ between the two patient cohorts, indicating that their absence may serve as a potential biomarker to support conservative ...

ABOUT THREE CATACLYSMIC VARIABLE STARS
In order to detect the new outbursts of the three cataclysmic variable TV Crv, NSV 1775, NSV 895, their positions was scanned on the plates of the Odessa collection of the sky service obtained for the period 1958 - 1988. The new outbursts were detected

The Magnetic Variable Stars [PDF]
The peculiar A stars were first noted as peculiar because they exhibit anomalously strong lines of one or more of the elements Si, Cr, Mn, Sr, and Eu. These diverse objects are all called Ap stars because their assigned spectral types fall predominantly in the range B9-F0.

The LEXOVE prospective study evaluated plasma cell‐free extracellular vesicle (cfEV) dynamics using Bradford assay and dynamic light scattering in metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer patients undergoing first‐line treatments, correlating a ∆cfEV < 20% with improved median progression‐free survival in responders versus non‐responders.

The variability of T Tauri stars [PDF]
For many years we have monitored the variability of some bright T Tauri stars with the 0.6 m “Perkin telescope” at Van Vleck Observatory. Collaborators in this endeavor have included several astronomers at the Crimea Astrophysical Observatory, at Capidomonte Observatory, at the U.S. Naval Observatory, and even some sophisticated amateurs.

We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...
