Variance Estimation Using Package vardpoor in R [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Română de Statistică, 2015
The paper is devoted to the R package vardpoor. The Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia in 2012 developed R package vardpoor. The package vardpoor was developed with the objective to modernise the sample error estimation in sample surveys.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Efficient D-optimal designs under multiplicative heteroscedasticity. [PDF]

open access: yes
In optimum design theory designs are constructed that maximize the information on the unknown parameters of the response function. The major part deals with designs optimal for response function estimation under the assumption of homoscedasticity.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Variance The Estimation Eigen Value of Principal Component Analysis and Nonlinear Principal Component Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences
Nonlinear Principal Component Analysis (PRINCALS) is an extension of Principal Component Analysis (Linear), which can reduce the variables of mixed scale multivariable data (nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio) simultaneously.

An Optimal Weight for Realized Variance Based on Intermittent High-Frequency Data [PDF]

open access: yes
In Japanese stock markets, there are two kinds of breaks, i.e., nighttime and lunch break, where we have no trading, entailing inevitable increase of variance in estimating daily volatility via naive realized variance (RV).

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Estimation of Population Variance for a Sensitive Variable in Stratified Sampling Using Randomized Response Technique

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal
In this paper, Randomized Response technique (RRT) is used to propose some separate and combined variance estimators for a sensitive variable using stratified random sampling.

Posterior moments of scale parameters in elliptical regression models. [PDF]

open access: yes
In the general multivariate elliptical class of data densities we define a scalar precision parameter r through a normalization of the scale matrix V. Using the improper prior on r which preserves the results under Normality for all other parameters and ...

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.
