Global 3D Features of Error Variances of GPS Radio Occultation and Radiosonde Observations

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Global Positioning System (GPS) radio occultation (RO) and radiosonde (RS) observations are two major types of observations assimilated in numerical weather prediction (NWP) systems.

Significance of linkage disequilibrium and epistasis on genetic variances in noninbred and inbred populations

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2022
Background The influence of linkage disequilibrium (LD), epistasis, and inbreeding on genotypic variance continues to be an important area of investigation in genetics and evolution.

Stronger uncertainty relations for the sum of variances

open access: yes, 2014
Heisenberg-Robertson's uncertainty relation expresses a limitation in the possible preparations of the system by giving a lower bound to the product of the variances of two observables in terms of their commutator.

A PRSZT Registry Analysis of Prognostic Factors Influencing Survival and Relapse Rates After Second Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A second allogeneic (allo‐)hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT2) is a potential curative option for pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) following relapse after first allogeneic transplantation (HSCT1), but its efficacy is limited by high relapse rates and transplant‐related toxicity in highly pretreated ...

Resampling methods in survey sampling

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2000
Aim of this paper is to estimate variances of the estimates of the population totals using resampling methods and to compare them with the known variances of the estimates.

Alternative Estimation of the Common Mean of Two Normal Populations with Order Restricted Variances

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2021
The problem of estimating the common mean of two normal populations has been considered when it is known a priori that the variances are ordered. Under order restriction on the variances some new alternative estimators have been proposed including one ...

Meta-analysis of ratios of sample variances

open access: yes, 2015
When conducting a meta-analysis of standardized mean differences (SMDs), it is common to assume equal variances in the two arms of each study. This leads to Cohen's $d$ estimates for which interpretation is simple.

Evaluation of the Utility of Baseline Echocardiogram in Patients With Standard Risk Precursor B‐Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
Abstract Background A routine baseline echocardiogram is often obtained prior to anthracycline administration in children with cancer. The utility of baseline echocardiogram is unclear in patients with standard risk B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (SR B‐ALL) as their anthracycline cumulative dose is low.

Dependence Balance Based Outer Bounds for Gaussian Networks with Cooperation and Feedback

open access: yes, 2008
We obtain new outer bounds on the capacity regions of the two-user multiple access channel with generalized feedback (MAC-GF) and the two-user interference channel with generalized feedback (IC-GF).

CPX‐351 in High‐Risk Relapsed Pediatric Acute Leukemia: Real‐World Phase 1 Data Establishing the FDA‐Approved Dose

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Outcomes for pediatric relapsed/refractory (R/R) acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remain dismal. CPX‐351, a liposomal formulation of cytarabine and daunorubicin, may have less off‐target toxicities than traditional chemotherapies and has shown improved outcomes for adults with newly diagnosed therapy‐related AML.
