Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Parametric Extended General Mixed Variational Inequalities
It is well known that the resolvent equations are equivalent to the extended general mixed variational inequalities. We use this alternative equivalent formulation to study the sensitivity of the extended general mixed variational inequalities without ...

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Comment on “A New Second-Order Iteration Method for Solving Nonlinear Equations”
Kang et al. claimed that they obtained a new iteration formulation for nonlinear algebraic equations; however the “new” formulation was first derived in 2007 by the variational iteration method.

An abstract formulation of variational refinement
The author develops an abstract approach to variational refinement of closed (periodic) curves that meet arbitrary convex constraints. Using closed-periodic piecewise linear (B-spline) curves he combines the abstract spline theory with near-interpolatory refinement techniques.

Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Multiscale Modeling of Microcrystalline Materials [PDF]
Materials with micrometer dimensions and their distinct mechanical properties have generated a great interest in the material science community over the last couple of decades. There is strong experimental evidence showing that microcrystalline materials

Stabilized two-phase material point method for hydromechanical coupling problems in solid–fluid porous media [PDF]
For the hydromechanical coupling of solid–fluid porous media, this study presents an explicit stabilized two-phase material point method (MPM) formulation based on the one-point two-phase MPM scheme.

Variational formulation of stationary two-phase flow distribution
This paper discusses the extremisation of the entropy production in fluidic networks to gain insight into using non-equilibrium thermodynamics for mathematically formulating thermal engineering transfer phenomena.
