The seal louse Echinophthirius horridus has uniquely shaped setae that may reduce drag during its host's dives. Using numerical simulations, this study demonstrates that their natural inclination promotes vortex formation, minimizing friction and energy loss. These findings provide insights into biological surface adaptations and may inspire the design

On the General Variational Inequality
AbstractIn this paper, we investigate the general variational inequality which extends the classical variational inequality in finite dimensional spaces. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution of this problem are obtained. Some existence results are derived using the fixed point theory.

Protected Chaos in a Topological Lattice
Topological and chaotic dynamics are often considered incompatible, with one expected to dominate or disrupt the other. This work reveals that topological localization can persist even under strong chaotic dynamics and, counter‐intuitively, protect chaotic behavior.

A New System of Multivalued Mixed Variational Inequality Problem
We consider a new system of multivalued mixed variational inequality problem, which includes some known systems of variational inequalities as special cases.

In the present paper, we consider the split variational inequality and fixed point problem that requires to find a solution of a generalized variational inequality in a nonempty closed convex subset C of a real Hilbert space H whose image under a ...

Materials Selection Principles for Designing Electro‐Thermal Neurons
Materials property – performance relations are established for new and old electrical materials leveraged as electro‐thermal oscillators emulating neuron dynamics. Robust, reconfigurable, high frequency, low power characteristics are explicitly tied to highly nonlinear electrical transport, small specific heat, and greater electrical than thermal ...

Increasing sedentary time, minimum dietary energy requirements, and food security assessment
Abstract We compute corrections for sedentary behavior in physical activity levels (PALs) and incorporate them along with corrections for over estimation of basal metabolic rates (BMRs) into threshold caloric intakes, known as minimum dietary energy requirements (MDERs).

On nonlinear variational inequalities [PDF]
The fixed point technique is used to prove the existence of a solution for a class of nonlinear variational inequalities related with odd order constrained boundary value problems and to suggest an iterative algorithm to compute the approximate solution.

Strong Convergence to a Solution of a Variational Inequality Problem in Banach Spaces
We consider the variational inequality problem for a family of operators of a nonempty closed convex subset of a 2-uniformly convex Banach space with a uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm, into its dual space.
