A customised 1D-CNN for recognition of freezing of gait in Parkinson’s disease using multivariate decomposition techniques

open access: yesOpen Computer Science
The freezing of gait (FoG) presents a sudden challenge in sustaining movement which becomes a common gait issue in people with later stages of Parkinson’s disease (PD). FoG often results in falls that reduces the individual’s impact on life.

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Fault Feature Extraction Method of Gearbox based on Parameter Optimization VMD

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2020
In order to solve the problem that the signal-to-noise ratio of the gearbox fault signal is low and fault feature extraction is difficult,a method for extracting gearbox fault feature based on parameters optimized variational mode decomposition is ...

Variational Mode Decomposition-based Notch Filter for Bearing Fault Detection

open access: yes, 2019
International audienceThis work presents a variational mode decomposition (VMD) based detector for bearing fault in electrical machines. Its performance is compared to that of the ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) based.

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Seismic attenuation estimation using multivariate variational mode decomposition

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
A seismic attenuation estimation approach is proposed based on multivariate variational mode decomposition (MVMD). MVMD, as a multivariable or multichannel signal processing tool, can extract several predefined multivariable modulation oscillations from ...

Variational Mode Decomposition with Missing Data

open access: yesKorean Journal of Applied Statistics, 2015
Abstract Dragomiretskiy and Zosso (2014) developed a new decomposition method, termed variational mode decom-position (VMD), which is efficient for handling the tone detection and separation of signals. However, VMDmay be inefficient in the presence of missing data since it is based on a fast Fourier transform (FFT) algo-rithm. To overcome this problem, we

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.
