Role of Histidine‐Containing Peptoids in Accelerating the Kinetics of Calcite Growth
Amphiphilic histidine‐containing peptoids mimic carbonic anhydrase (CA) to accelerate calcite step growth. In the presence of Zn2+, they promote the deprotonation of HCO3−, the desolvation of Ca2+, and the reorganization of interfacial hydration layers, thereby reducing the activation barrier for calcite growth.

Artificial Amorphous Interface Matters for Boosting High‐Voltage Stable LiCoO2 Cathode
The amorphization of phosphate‐based surface layer with favorable Li‐ion conducting kinetics is realized by precisely tailored atomic‐level fabrication. This amorphous coating enables the lithium cobalt oxide (LCO) cathode superior high‐voltage rate capability and cycling performance, owing to the fast interfacial ionic transport and maintained ...

An example of non-homeomorphic conjugate varieties
We give examples of smooth quasi-projective varieties over complex numbers, in the context of connected Shimura varieties, which are not homeomorphic to a conjugate of itself by an automorphism of the complex numbers.Comment: 4 ...

The lattice of semigroup varieties
Semigroups are considered here in terms of the identities which they may satisfy with the emphasis on the identities and on classes of semigroups defined by identities, rather than on the semigroups themselves. These classes, called varieties, form a lattice under inclusion and it is illuminating to interpret properties of semigroup identities and ...

Lower-modular elements of the lattice of semigroup varieties. III
We completely determine all lower-modular elements of the lattice of all semigroup varieties. As a corollary, we show that a lower-modular element of this lattice is modular.Comment: 10 pages, 1 ...
