Dynamic Arterial Elastance Is Associated With the Vascular Waterfall in Patients Treated With Norepinephrine: An Observational Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2021
Introduction: It has been suggested that dynamic arterial elastance (Eadyn) can predict decreases in arterial pressure in response to changing norepinephrine levels.

Effect of Angiotensin II on Blood Flow in Acute and Chronically Inflamed Knee Joints of Rabbits: The Role of Nitric Oxide [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Medical Sciences, 2009
Background: Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) upregulationin stromal cells of joints affected by rheumatoid arthritismay lead to higher tissue angiotensin II that is a vasoconstrictorand mitogen factor.

METOCLOPRAMIDE AND RENAL VASCULAR RESISTANCE

open access: yesBritish Journal of Anaesthesia, 1991
We have studied the effect of i.v. metoclopramide on renal vascular resistance in nine healthy volunteers. Peak systolic and end-diastolic frequencies were measured using duplex Doppler ultrasound of a renal interlobar artery, before and after the administration of i.v. metoclopramide 10 mg, and the resistance index derived.

Vascular stiffness in insulin resistance and obesity [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2015
Obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes are associated with a substantially increased prevalence of vascular fibrosis and stiffness, with attendant increased risk of cardiovascular and chronic kidney disease. Although the underlying mechanisms and mediators of vascular stiffness are not well understood, accumulating evidence supports the role ...

Pleiotropic Phenotypes of the Tomato diageotropica Mutant Enable Resistance to Ralstonia solanacearum

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions
Quantitative disease resistance (QDR) is the most common form of disease resistance in crops, but it is challenging to understand at the cellular level due to the involvement of many genes and biological processes.

Effects of the heart contractility and its vascular load on the heart rate in athlets [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерные исследования и моделирование, 2017
Heart rate (HR) is the most affordable indicator for measuring. In order to control the individual response to physical exercises of different load types heart rate is measured when the athletes perform different types of muscular work (strength machines,

Single-Cell RNA Sequencing Revealed CD14+ Monocytes Increased in Patients With Takayasu’s Arteritis Requiring Surgical Management

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2021
Objectives: Takayasu Arteritis (TA) is a highly specific vascular inflammation and poses threat to patients’ health. Although some patients have accepted medical treatment, their culprit lesions require surgical management (TARSM).

The value of transcranial Doppler derived pulsatility index for diagnosing cerebral small-vessel disease

open access: yesAdvanced Biomedical Research, 2015
Background: The pulsatility index (PI), measured by transcranial Doppler (TCD) ultrasonography, can reflect vascular resistance induced by cerebral small-vessel disease (SVD).

Changes in central and peripheral hemodynamic parameters during blood donation

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundBlood donation is a common procedure, yet its acute effects on central and peripheral hemodynamics are not fully understood. This study aimed to systematically quantify immediate cardiovascular changes induced by whole blood donation in healthy
