Welcome to the Jungle: An Examination of the Making of Science Standards

open access: yesScience Education, Volume 110, Issue 5, Page 1278-1301, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Nearly 50 million public school students in the United States are required to learn the content prescribed by state‐mandated science standards. Antimicrobial Use in Livestock: The Economic Cost of Action or Inaction

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Economics, Volume 77, Issue 3, Page 865-887, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper quantifies the economy‐wide consequences of two independent global stress‐tests in livestock production. The first assesses the effects of phasing out antimicrobial growth promoters (AGPs), and the second evaluates the long‐term impacts of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) progression.

Morphological and trophic coupling distinguishes coral clades along a light gradient

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Light availability is critical to the growth and survival of most scleractinian corals due to their endosymbiotic relationship with photosynthetic dinoflagellates. Natural light gradients are expected to be associated with shifts in coral physiology, morphology, and trophic strategy.

Postfrontal Deep Convection Over the Southern Ocean and Orographic Precipitation Enhancement Over Tasmania

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 14, 28 July 2026.
Abstract The orographic precipitation enhancement (OPE) generated within wintertime post‐frontal air masses is a prominent climate feature of Tasmania. This study investigates a passage of a cold sector of a mid‐latitude cyclone over the Southern Ocean (SO) and Western Tasmania (WTAS) observed from 2100 UTC 11 July to 0300 UTC 13 July.

Seasonal Physiological Strategies Reveal Contrasting Host–Symbiont Dynamics Among Dominant Indo‐Pacific Reef‐Building Corals

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
Seasonal changes in coral physiology reveal distinct acclimatization strategies among reef‐building corals. Symbiotic generalists exhibit large seasonal fluctuations driven primarily by symbiont dynamics, whereas symbiotic specialists maintain stable symbiont physiology through stronger host regulation.
