In bladder cancer, LRG1 binds to ANXA2 to trigger mitochondrial ROS‐dependent NETosis. This pathogenic cascade actively uncouples endothelial‐mural cell interactions, driving profound vascular destabilization. Consequently, targeting the LRG1‐ANXA2 axis attenuates the neutrophil burden and induces structural vascular normalization, offering a powerful ...

A cytokinin pathway transcription factor, RR2b, was artificially selected during soybean domestication and improvement based on its differential transcriptional activity, which correlates with ATT repeat polymorphisms in its promoter. RR2b balances yield and defense by fine‐tuning its expression level and offers a promising target for decoupling trade ...

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

An Antivector Vaccine Protects against a Lethal Vector-Borne Pathogen
Vaccines that target blood-feeding disease vectors, such as mosquitoes and ticks, have the potential to protect against the many diseases caused by vector-borne pathogens. We tested the ability of an anti-tick vaccine derived from a tick cement protein (64TRP) of Rhipicephalus appendiculatus to protect mice against tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV ...

Sterol engineering enables precise control of mRNA lipid nanoparticles by tuning membrane organization. Replacing cholesterol with bile acid‐derived sterols redirects protein expression from the liver to the spleen. Notably, CA‐20 LNP enhances antigen‐specific immune responses while exhibiting a favorable safety profile, highlighting sterols as a ...

NSD2 coordinates the neurogenic‐to‐gliogenic transition in the developing neocortex through H3K36me2‐dependent activation of EGFR–ERK signaling. Loss of NSD2 disrupts astroglial and oligodendroglial development, whereas ERK activation rescues gliogenic defects in vitro and in vivo.

Seven challenges for modelling indirect transmission : vector-borne diseases, macroparasites and neglected tropical diseases [PDF]
Many of the challenges which face modellers of directly transmitted pathogens also arise when modelling the epidemiology of pathogens with indirect transmission – whether through environmental stages, vectors, intermediate hosts or multiple hosts.

Computational and structure‐guided arginine scanning rewires the DNA‐binding interface of APE1 to create APE1‐Evo, a hyperactive yet specific AP endonuclease. Integrated into the NAPTUNE‐V2.0 cascade, APE1‐Evo enables amplification‐free, multiplex viral RNA sensing for dengue virus and influenza A/B, highlighting a general strategy for engineering ...

The role of companion animals in the environmental circulation of tick-borne bacterial pathogens
Ticks are known as vectors of a wide range of pathogens of medical and veterinary importance; some of them of zoonotic concern constitute a hazard for the emergence of tick-borne diseases shared between humans and domestic animals and becoming a part of ...
