Constructing stable vector bundles from curves with torsion normal bundle

open access: yes, 2023
Given a smooth irreducible curve $S$ with torsion normal bundle on a projective surface $X$, we provide a criterion for the non-emptiness of the moduli of slope stable vector bundles with prescribed Chern classes.

MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

The natural operators lifting vector fields to generalized higher order tangent bundles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
summary:For natural numbers $r$ and $n$ and a real number $a$ we construct a natural vector bundle $T^{(r),a}$ over $n$-manifolds such that $T^{(r),0}$ is the (classical) vector tangent bundle $T^{(r)}$ of order $r$.

The Hopf boundary point lemma for vector bundle sections

open access: yes, 2008
The paper establishes a version of the Hopf boundary point lemma for sections of a vector bundle over a manifold with boundary. This result may be viewed as a counterpart to the tensor maximum principle obtained by R. Hamilton in 1986.

Structure–Function Decoupling of the Sensorimotor and Default Mode Networks in Black Americans With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

Complex and real vector bundle monomorphisms

open access: yes, 1999
Given two complex vector bundles over a closed smooth manifold, we compare results concerning the existence and the (homotopy) classification of complex vector bundle monomorphisms on one hand and of real ones on the other hand.

On the Resonance Varieties of Vector Bundles on Curves

open access: yesMathematics
We use the resonance (Papadima, Sociu, Aprodu and others) to study vector bundles E on a smooth curve X of genus g. Our key observation is that if we know it for a specific integer c, then we get strong information on X and E. Fix an integer c≥g+1.

Complementarity of Long‐Reads and Optical Mapping in Parkinson's Disease for Structural Variants

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Long‐read sequencing and optical genome mapping technologies have the ability to detect large and complex structural variants. This has led to the discovery of novel pathogenic variants in neurodegenerative movement disorders. Thus, we aimed to systematically compare the SV detection capabilities of OGM and ONT in Parkinson's disease.

Unraveling 4‐Phenylbutyrate's Therapeutic Role in SLC6A1 Disorders: Pharmacochaperoning Over HDAC Inhibition

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Variants in SLC6A1, encoding the GABA transporter 1 (GAT‐1), cause epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental delay via loss of GABA uptake, impaired trafficking, and ER retention. We previously found that 4‐Phenylbutyrate (PBA), an FDA‐approved drug, restores GABA uptake and reduces seizures in SLC6A1‐related disorders ...

Discordance Between Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index Domain Weights and Their Association With Organ Damage Accrual

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Studies of damage accrual in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) show associations with disease activity measured by the SLE Disease Activity Index 2000 (SLEDAI‐2K), but these associations are imperfect. SLEDAI scores are powerfully influenced by weightings (1–8) assigned to each domain.
