Monodromy of a Class of Logarithmic Connections on an Elliptic Curve

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2007
The logarithmic connections studied in the paper are direct images of regular connections on line bundles over genus-2 double covers of the elliptic curve.

Horizontal Forms of Chern Type on Complex Finsler Bundles

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2010
The aim of this paper is to construct horizontal Chern forms of a holomorphic vector bundle using complex Finsler structures. Also, some properties of these forms are studied.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

On the Picard bundle

open access: yes, 2009
Fix a holomorphic line bundle ξ over a compact connected Riemann surface X of genus g, with g⩾2, and also fix an integer r such that degree(ξ)>r(2g−1). Let Mξ(r) denote the moduli space of stable vector bundles over X of rank r and determinant ξ.

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

The natural operators lifting vector fields to $(J\sp rT\sp *)\sp *$

open access: yes, 2000
summary:For integers $r\ge 2$ and $n\ge 2$ a complete classification of all natural operators $A:T_{\vert M_n}\rightsquigarrow T(J^rT^*)^*$ lifting vector fields to vector fields on the natural bundle $(J^rT^*)^*$ dual to $r$-jet prolongation $J^rT^*$ of

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Positivity properties of the vector bundle Monge-Ampère equation

open access: yes
We study MA-positivity, a notion of positivity relevant to a vector bundle version of the complex Monge--Ampère equation introduced in an earlier work, and show that for rank-two holomorphic bundles over complex surfaces, MA-semi-positive solutions of ...

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation
