Dual Role Executives and Corporate Membership of Emission Trading Schemes: The Role of Board Structure

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the impact of CEO duality on the likelihood of corporate participation in an emissions trading scheme. The results indicate that firms led by dual‐role executives are less likely to participate in emissions trading schemes.

Recombinant Expression and Bioprocess Optimization of Priestia megaterium α‐Amylase and Its Impact on Dough Fermentation Efficiency

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
This study presents a scalable strategy for producing Priestia megaterium α‐amylase (PmAmy) via fed‐batch fermentation, optimizing the biomass/IPTG ratio to enhance yield. With an activity of 67.7 U mL−1 at 22.3 g L−1 biomass, PmAmy demonstrated 99% efficiency in dough fermentation, highlighting its industrial potential as a sustainable baking enzyme .

Dominant‐Negative Effects of p53 R337 Variants in Li–Fraumeni Syndrome: Impact on Tetramer Formation and Transcriptional Activity

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Hetero‐tetramer dysfunction: Li–Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a hereditary cancer predisposition caused by mutations in the TP53 gene encoding the tumor suppressor p53. It is shown that p53 variants R337C and R337H, found in LFS, impair wild‐type (WT) p53 function by forming heterotetramers with reduced transcriptional activity.

Functional Analysis of Histidine‐Dependent Self‐Cleaving RNAs Obtained by In Vitro Selection

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Ribozymes can be nucleic acid medicines given their catalytic activity. We attempted to obtain functional RNAs that mimic ribonuclease A catalytic mechanisms. Functional RNAs with high histidine specificity were obtained, suggesting that histidine acts in active structure formation.

The PP2A‐B56 Binding Site LxxIxE Contributes to Asp‐Mediated Spindle Pole Stability

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The organization of microtubules into a mitotic spindle is critical for animal cell proliferation and involves the cooperation of hundreds of proteins whose molecular roles and regulation are not fully understood. The protein product of the Drosophila gene abnormal spindle, Asp, is a microtubule‐associated protein required for correct mitotic ...
