Calibration of Vector Hydrophones in Deep Water

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
To apply vector hydrophone to deep-sea detection, a calibration test of the vector hydrophone under different hydrostatic pressure was taken in the national defence underwater acoustics calibration laboratory. The effect of the relative sensitivity changes between channels on the vector hydrophones direction finding and zero-inhibition performance is ...

Two-Axis Slim Fiber Laser Vector Hydrophone

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2011
This letter presents a two-axis slim fiber laser vector hydrophone with a V-shaped flexed beam as a mass-spring element. Theoretical analysis and finite-element methods are both utilized to obtain the sensitivity and frequent response of the hydrophone. The key factors that determine the sensitivity and resonant frequency are discussed.

The Experimental Data Analysis of Vector Hydrophone

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
The paper gives out the calibration method of the sensitivity and phase to a vector hydrophone; it analysed the data from the lake trial and the sea trial. The results indicate that, in the isotropic noise field, the sound pressure and the velocity are not related, but the signals are completely relevant.

High Performance UltraThin Fiber Laser Vector Hydrophone

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2012
This paper presents a three axis slim fiber laser vector hydrophone. Using a V-shaped flexed beam as a mass-spring element, the acceleration in the radius direction can induce axial strain in the fiber laser. Theoretical analysis and finite element method are both used to evaluate the sensitivity and frequent response of the hydrophone.

Experimental study on single vector hydrophone positioning

2017 10th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing, BioMedical Engineering and Informatics (CISP-BMEI), 2017
According to the single vector hydrophone positioning theory, some experiments were done in the pool. The noncoherent sources positioning and coherent sources positioning were tested respectively. The experimental results agree with the theoretical results, which validate the feasibility of the academic and provides experimental basis for engineering ...

Research of Vector Hydrophone Adaptive Signal Processing

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
As a useful tool for line spectrum detection in underwater signal ,ALE has been used wildly. But there are still some problems to influence the effect of ALE. This paper gives three problems on ALE and analyses these. Then by the characteristics of vector hydrophone and a improved variable step size LMS,this paper constructs a cascade double input with ...

Ambient Noise Measurements with Vector Acoustic Hydrophones

OCEANS 2006, 2006
Vector hydrophones are compact acoustic sensors that provide intrinsic non-omnidirectional (e.g. dipole) beampatterns with a single sensor. Often the three orthogonal components of the particle velocity or particle acceleration field are measured using a three-axis neutrally buoyant motion sensor.

Improvement of a Novel MEMS Bionic Vector Hydrophone

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
A novel MEMS vector hydrophone with bionics structure was introduced in 2007. As the acoustic-electric transducer infrastructure and the acoustic package of hydrophone have been optimized, the performance of the hydrophone has been greatly improved compared with the previous.

A Kind of Minitype 2D Vector Hydrophone

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
A special designed 2D accelerometer was successfully used in the design of the minitype 2D vector hydrophone. The theory, design and experiment test data of both the accelerometer and the vector hydrophone was presented in this paper. The accelerometer based on cantilever beam mode and used PZT tube to substitute the PZT plate which was traditional ...

Double vector hydrophones positioning of underwater moving sources

2014 7th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing, 2014
Huge structures navigating underwater always have multi radiated noise sources distributed on different part. Therefore, noise source positioning is regarded as the core of noise control. In order to make the measuring system more effective, a new method for underwater near field moving sources is proposed in this paper.
