The SPARK 2.0 system - a special purpose vector processor with a VectorPASCAL compiler

open access: yes, 2008
This paper describes the architecture of the Spark 2.0 processor and introduces a compiler for VectorPascal. Features of the architecture are the flexible address generation during vector operations and the large memories closely connected to the ...

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

A FINITE ELEMENT SYSTEM FOR THE CYBER 205 VECTOR PROCESSOR (NONLINEAR, ANALYSIS, STATIC)

open access: yes, 1985
Finite element system developers bear considerable responsibility. An understanding of vector processor hardware characteristics and operational behavior is required before an attempt for superior finite element analysis performance should be made.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Optimizing OPM for tridiagonal systems on vector uniprocessors

open access: yes, 1993
The Overlapped Partitions Method (OPM) is a solver for strictly diagonal dominant banded systems of equations. The method shows to be very well adapted to parallel and vector computers.

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Decision Support Database Management System Acceleration Using Vector Processor

open access: yes, 2011
English: This work takes a top-down approach to accelerating decision support systems (DSS) on x86-64 microprocessors using true vector ISA extensions. First, a state of art DSS database management system (DBMS) is pro led and bottlenecks are identi ed.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for
