Vector Analysis and Vector Fields [PDF]
A vector function of a scalar variable is a vector \( {\vec{\text{a}}} \) whose components are real functions of t: \( {\vec{\text{a}}} = {\vec{\text{a}}}(t) = a_{x} (t ) {\vec{\text{e}}}_{x} + a_{y} (t ) {\vec{\text{e}}}_{y} + a_{z} (t ) {\vec{\text{e}}}_{z} .

On Vector Equilibria, Vector Optimization and Vector Variational Inequalities
Journal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis, 2011ABSTRACTIt is well‐known that, under certain conditions, network equilibrium, optimization and variational inequality problems are equivalent. Hence, solution algorithms to solve any of the three problems can be used to solve the other problems. Vector network equilibrium problems lead to analogous definitions of vector optimization (VOP) and vector ...

In nearly all of the discussion to follow we shall deal with the set of real numbers. Occasionally, however, we shall deal with complex numbers as well. In order to avoid cumbersome repetition we shall denote the set we are dealing with by F and let the context elucidate whether we are speaking of real or complex numbers or both.

In this chapter we discuss a wide range of basic topics related to vectors of real numbers. Some of the properties carry over to vectors over other fields, such as complex numbers, but the reader should not assume this. Occasionally, for emphasis, we will refer to “real” vectors or “real” vector spaces, but unless it is stated otherwise, we are ...

Vectors and vector-borne diseases of horses
Veterinary Research Communications, 2012Most diseases of horses with zoonotic importance are transmitted by arthropods. The vectors belong to two very distantly related groups, the chelicerate Ixodidae (Acari = ticks) and the hexapod Diptera (true flies). Almost all relevant species are predestined for transmitting pathogens by their blood-sucking habits.

An Introduction to Vectors, Vector Operators and Vector Analysis
2016Ideal for undergraduate and graduate students of science and engineering, this book covers fundamental concepts of vectors and their applications in a single volume. The first unit deals with basic formulation, both conceptual and theoretical. It discusses applications of algebraic operations, Levi-Civita notation, and curvilinear coordinate systems ...

Publisher Summary This chapter describes retroviruses as the RNA viruses whose life cycle includes their replication by a DNA intermediate that integrates into the host genome. Transcription of the provirus leads to the production of virions without any apparent cytopathic effect on the cells.

Vector-Vector—Pseudoscalar Interactions
Physical Review, 1966Vector-vector\char22{}pseudoscalar (V-V\char22{}PS) intereactions are interpreted exclusively in terms of baryon loops, and application is made to radiative decay of bosons. The model appears to give a highly satisfactory account of $A$-forbiddenness; it also agrees with at least one decay that is $A$-allowed, suggesting that intrinsic V-V\char22{}PS ...
