Targeting UDP‐Bta06664 in Bemisia tabaci: A novel strategy to reduce tomato yellow leaf curl virus transmission by impairing insect vector feeding

Tomato yellow leaf curl virus upregulates the Bemisia tabaci UDP‐glycosyltransferase gene UDP‐Bta06664. RNA interference (RNAi) silencing of this gene disrupts phloem feeding—delaying E1 and shortening E2—and reduces both virus acquisition and inoculation, highlighting its potential as an RNAi target.
