Quantifying the Volume of Particulate Matter at Bus Stations

open access: yesPromet (Zagreb)
Congested urban traffic substantially contributes to air pollution in cities. While waiting at bus stops, passengers may be exposed to increased contamination caused by vehicles, including particulate matter (PM). The modern bus stop layout, position and

Analysis of emergency braking of a vehicle [PDF]

open access: yesTransport, 2007
In this paper, braking of cars is analyzed: the analytic formulas for description of the said process and the diagrams for its illustration are provided, its mode of operation when the wheels of the car are not blocked is discussed upon, the most ...

A data collection scheme for identification of parameters in a driver model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
A high gain steering controller to compensate for limitations in a handicapped driver's range of motion is employed when adapting vehicle to his use. A driver/vehicle system can become unstable as vehicle speed is increased, therefore it is desirable to ...

Vehicle Communication using Secrecy Capacity

open access: yes, 2018
We address secure vehicle communication using secrecy capacity. In particular, we research the relationship between secrecy capacity and various types of parameters that determine secrecy capacity in the vehicular wireless network.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Experimental tests of vehicle body accelerations at selected road and rail crossings

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
Vehicles moving across the railway are exposed to the dynamic reaction of unevenness of surface on those level crossing. This significantly influences on the increase of the acceleration as well as forces values transferred to the body of the car.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Using fuzzy logic to control active suspension system of one-half-car model [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2003
In the paper, fuzzy logic is used to control active suspension of a one-half-car model. Velocity and acceleration of the front and rear wheels and undercarriage velocity above the mentioned wheels are taken as input data of the fuzzy logic controller ...
