Augmenting and Assaying Nav1.1 Protein Quantity for Dravet Syndrome Therapy
ABSTRACT Dravet Syndrome (DS) is a developmental and epileptic encephalopathy predominantly caused by heterozygous loss‐of‐function variants in SCN1A, which encodes Nav1.1. Conserved upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in SCN1A were validated to regulate translation in reporter assays, demonstrating the therapeutic viability of increasing Nav1.1 from ...

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Vehicular Re-Identification from Uncontrolled Multiple Views
Vehicle re-identification (re-ID) across disparate sensing modalities remains a fundamental challenge for transportation research. In this work, we introduce a deep multi-view vehicle re-ID framework that leverages Siamese networks to compare pairs of ...

Vehicle-To-Vehicle Communication
The purpose of this paper is to address the pressing road safety issues that plague our country. Unfortunately, a high number of fatalities result from accidents on the road. To combat this problem, this paper proposes the implementation of a Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication protocol that will allow vehicles to communicate wirelessly with one ...

The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.
