The pyramidal capacitated vehicle routing problem [PDF]
This paper introduces the pyramidal capacitated vehicle routing problem (PCVRP) as a restricted version of the capacitated vehicle routing problem (CVRP). In the PCVRP each route is required to be pyramidal in a sense generalized from the pyramidal traveling salesman problem (PTSP).

Vehicle Routing Problem Models
The Vehicle Routing Problem cannot always be solved exactly,so that in actual application this problem is solved heuristically. The work describes the concept of several concrete VRPmodels with simplified initial conditions (all vehicles are ofequal ...

Hierarchical vehicle routing problems [PDF]
AbstractHierarchical vehicle routing problems, in which the decision to acquire a number of vehicles has to be based on imperfect (probabilistic) information about the location of future customers, allow a natural formulation as two‐stage stochastic programming problems, where the objective is to minimize the sum of the acquisition cost and the length ...

SavingsAnts for the Vehicle Routing Problem [PDF]
In this paper we propose a hybrid approach for solving vehicle routing problems. The main idea is to combine an Ant System (AS) with a problem specific constructive heuristic, namely the well known Savings algorithm. This differs from previous approaches, where the subordinate heuristic was the Nearest Neighbor algorithm initially proposed for the TSP.

Vehicle routing problems with multiple trips [PDF]
This paper presents a survey on the Multi-Trip Vehicle Routing Problem (MTVRP) and onrelated routing problems where vehicles are allowed to perform multiple trips. The first part ofthe paper focuses on the MTVRP. It gives an unified view on mathematical formulations andsurveys exact and heuristic approaches.

To the classification of vehicles routing problems
The essence of the problems considered consists in developing routes for a group of heterogeneous vehicles based in a specific place or places (depot) that have to deliver goods to customers according to their volume of orders.
