HRS Degradation‐Induced Nicotinamide Deficiency in Placental Extracellular Vesicles Triggers Preeclampsia by Disrupting Maternal‐Fetal Immune Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that lower NAM levels in PE‐derived pEVs correlate with disease severity. NAM‐deficient pEVs reduce Th1 and Th17 inhibition, leading to PE‐like symptoms. NAM in pEVs inhibits Th1 via SIRT1 and Th17 via macrophages. Reduced NAM in PE‐EVs is due to decreased HRS expression in trophoblasts, resulting from elevated HSP27.

Improving QoS in VANET

open access: yesAl-Iraqia Journal for Scientific Engineering Research
The Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is a novel and auspicious performance within the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) field. Numerous scholars endeavoured to enhance the VANETs' Quality of Service (QoS) by creating routing procedures that were

TAD-HOC Routing Protocol for Efficient VANET and Infrastructure-Oriented Communication Network

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2020
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is a critical factor for Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANET). Even though VANET belongs to the class of Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET), none of the MANET routing protocol applies to VANET.

Seipin‐Mediated Lipid Droplet Formation in Cardiomyocytes Ameliorates Cardiac Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid droplets (LDs) protect the heart against lipotoxicity in cardiac ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury; however, they are insufficient to prevent cardiomyocyte death. Seipin plays a central role in the insufficient formation of LDs, subsequent lipotoxicity, and myocardial injury during cardiac I/R injury.

Astrocytic PERK Deficiency Drives Prefrontal Circuit Dysfunction and Depressive‐Like Behaviors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chen et al. show that the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress sensor PERK is downregulated in prefrontal cortex (PFC) astrocytes in major depressive disorder and in chronic‐stress mouse models. In young mice, astrocyte‐specific PERK loss reduces the synaptogenic cue thrombospondin‐1 (TSP1), leading to synaptic and circuit deficits and depressive‐like ...

GRCBox: Extending Smartphone Connectivity in Vehicular Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2015
The low penetration of connectivity-enabled OBUs is delaying the deployment of vehicular networks (VNs) and therefore the development of vehicular delay tolerant network (VDTN) applications, among others.

Subicular Astrocytes Govern Seizure‐Impaired Fear Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocytes in dorsal subiculum act as a critical modulator of seizure‐associated cognitive dysfunction, operating through a Ca2+‐dependent adenosine‐linked astrocyte‐neuron signaling pathway that disrupts neuronal circuit homeostasis. This research highlights the potential of astrocyte‐targeted interventions as a therapeutic strategy, moving beyond the
