Preliminary experiment, velocity profile.
Upward (dark grey) and downward (light grey) movement velocity profile of a typical subject, normalized on amplitude and duration (MD). On the bottom the Time to Peak Velocity values (TPV) of these movements are reported.

Soil Velocity Profile on Soft Soil using Seismic Refraction [PDF]
. Soil velocity profile often used as subsurface characterization by using geophysical techniques. Seismic refraction is one of geophysical technique to determine primary wave (p-wave) velocity of the soil profile.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Combined Method for Quantitative Characterisation of Fluid Flow
A method has been proposed for quantitative characterization of the flow behaviour of fluids, which is an important problem of applied rheology. Particle Image Velocimetry technique has been used for visualization and measurement of the velocity field ...

Control of backward-facing step flow using burst modulation with a DBD plasma actuator
In this paper, an experimental study is performed for channel flow over a backward-facing step, with a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma actuator (PA) as a flow control device that introduces periodic disturbance to the system.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

First radial velocity results from the MINiature Exoplanet Radial Velocity Array (MINERVA) [PDF]
The MINiature Exoplanet Radial Velocity Array (MINERVA) is a dedicated observatory of four 0.7 m robotic telescopes fiber-fed to a KiwiSpec spectrograph. The MINERVA mission is to discover super-Earths in the habitable zones of nearby stars.

Cause of jet of vortex ring and its suppression in circular converging nozzle with entrance pipe
The control of circular jets has been studied extensively in the fluid dynamics literature. Most studies introduce an entrance pipe upstream of the nozzle outlet to straighten the flow.
