Load Distributing Metamaterials Via Discrete Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanical metamaterials are computationally optimized to homogenize transmitted forces by minimizing the spread of reaction forces. The resulting architectures transform localized loading into broader, more uniform force distributions and experimentally demonstrate robust load spreading under quasi‐static and impact loading.

Reproducing the acoustic velocity vectors in a circular listening area

open access: yes2024 17th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication System (ICSPCS)
Acoustic velocity vectors are important for human's localization of sound at low frequencies. This paper proposes a sound field reproduction algorithm, which matches the acoustic velocity vectors in a circular listening area. In previous work, acoustic velocity vectors are matched either at sweet spots or on the boundary of the listening area.

Bulk‐Like Spin Cycloid and Fast Switching in Freestanding BiFeO3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Freestanding BiFeO3 membranes overcome substrate‐induced constraints by simultaneously restoring the intrinsic bulk‐like spin cycloid and enabling ≈50% faster ferroelectric switching than substrate‐clamped epitaxial thin films. This combination of robust noncollinear antiferromagnetic order and efficient electric‐field switching establishes ...

DEVELOPMENT OF THE VELOCITY VECTOR INDICATION AT HUD AT LANDING MODE ON THE GROUND-BASED SIMULATOR

open access: yesНаучный вестник МГТУ ГА, 2016
Velocity vector indication at HUD is effective technique for fulfilling carrier landing and landing on short runway. The command glide slope value and carrier velocity are added to traditional algorithm of the velocity vector indication.

Modal Analysis of Light Propagation, Polarization and Diffraction by Cholesteric Liquid Crystal Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The analysis of optical eigenmodes in chiral liquid crystal with perpendicular or tilted helical axis, and their correspondence with the external medium, leads to an intuitive understanding of the angle and wavelength dependency of transmissive and reflective diffraction.

Thermoresponsive Liquid Crystalline Polymer Coatings Programmed by Field‐Induced Topological Defects for Tunable Optical and Topographical Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Resonant standing waves generate large‐area lattices of liquid‐crystal topological defects that are permanently encoded into polymer coatings by photopolymerization. The preserved director architecture produces thermally reconfigurable surface topographies while maintaining programmable optical functionality, demonstrating a scalable strategy for ...

Pressure Measurement System for Calibration of Multi-hole Probes

open access: yesRevista Elektrón
Velocity measurement is a central point in all experimental work in Fluid Mechanics, especially if one wants to analyze the wake behind objects inside a wind tunnel. One type of instrument available is the multi-hole probe that infers the velocity vector

Autonomous Multi‐Objective Nanoscale Characterization of Combinatorial (Al, Sc, B)N Films Reveals Composition‐Dependent Ferroelectric Regimes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Autonomous scanning probe microscopy and multi‐objective Bayesian optimization navigate a ternary (Al,Sc,B)N combinatorial library. Registered photoluminescence, electron‐probe compositional mapping, and X‐ray diffraction connect local electromechanical function to defect‐sensitive emission, composition, and crystal structure.
