Preoperative rapid growth of inferior vena cava tumor thrombus in renal cell carcinoma

open access: yesIJU Case Reports
Introduction We present the case of a rapidly growing inferior vena cava tumor thrombus in renal cell carcinoma. Case presentation We present a case of a 66‐year‐old woman with right renal cell carcinoma with a tumor thrombus extending 2 cm into the ...

Recurrent Motions in the Nonautonomous Navier-Stokes System [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We prove the existence of recurrent or Poisson stable motions in the Navier-Stokes fluid system under recurrent or Poisson stable forcing, respectively. We use an approach based on nonautonomous dynamical systems ideas.

AV‐node isolation as an alternative to AV‐node ablation in patients undergoing pace & ablate strategy

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Volume 33, Issue 12, Page 2606-2613, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Introduction Atrioventricular (AV)‐node ablation (AVNA) is a common therapy option for rate control strategy of permanent atrial fibrillation (AF). We hypothesized that isolation of the AV nodal isolation (AVNI) is associated with a more frequent preservation of an adequate escape rhythm compared to AVNA.

Azygos vein stenting as an alternate route for inferior vena cava obstruction

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques, 2023
Chronic venous insufficiency, caused by inferior vena cava occlusion, can lead to thromboembolic complications and tissue loss. We present two cases of azygos vein stenting (AVS) in which vena cava recanalization techniques were exhausted.

Transabdominal two-cavity approach for radical nephrectomy combined with inferior vena cava thrombectomy for malignant thrombus caused by renal cell carcinoma: a case series

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2018
Background Advanced renal cell carcinoma in some cases causes malignant intravascular thrombus with the potential for growth into the inferior vena cava or even the right atrium.

Lower loop re-entrant flutter. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Arrhythm
An elderly man with a history of a prior inferior wall myocardial infarction underwent ablation for an atypical right atrial flutter. Electroanatomic mapping revealed diffuse scarring on the anterior, anterolateral, and posterior right atrium, presumably due to atrial infarction from the prior inferior wall myocardial infarction, forcing the activation

Injuries of the inferior vena cava

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1974
Abstract Four cases of inferior vena caval injury seen recently at the Accident Service of the Colombo General Hospital are reported. Three patients presented in shock, white 2 had active bleeding at the time of operation. Direct suture was successful in 3 cases.

Counting configuration-free sets in groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We provide new examples of the asymptotic counting for the number of subsets on groups of given size which are free of certain configurations. These examples include sets without solutions to equations in non-abelian groups, and linear configurations in abelian groups defined from group homomorphisms.

Complications related to deep venous thrombosis prophylaxis in trauma: a systematic review of the literature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Deep venous thrombosis prophylaxis is essential to the appropriate management of multisystem trauma patients. Without thromboprophylaxis, the rate of venous thrombosis and subsequent pulmonary embolism is substantial.
