Cognitive and Neuroimaging Divergence Between Juvenile and Adult FUS Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Fused in sarcoma (FUS)‐associated juvenile ALS (jALS) represents a distinct and aggressive subgroup with rapid deterioration and poor prognosis.

The Case of a 40‐Year‐Old Man With New‐Onset Status Epilepticus in the Setting of HIV Infection
ABSTRACT A 40‐year‐old man from Andhra Pradesh in India, while on regular antiretroviral treatment (ART) for long‐standing HIV infection presented with a 1‐day history of new‐onset status epilepticus. CT and MRI brain showed multifocal cerebral ring lesions, some of which demonstrated characteristic ‘hole‐with‐a‐dot’ sign.

Ventilator circuits mechanics and ventilator compensation
Introduction Invasive mechanical ventilation usually uses a double limb circuit. However, those circuits are not standardized and usually come from different manufacturers with different lengths, diameters, compliances and resistances.

Patient–Ventilator Interaction During Noninvasive Ventilation [PDF]
Patient–ventilator discordance commonly occurs in patients receiving noninvasive ventilation (NIV). Unintentional leaks contribute to trigger and cycle asynchrony. Historically, ventilators designed for NIV with an intentional leak circuit compensated for unintentional leaks better than critical care ventilators.

Objective Race and household income impact outcomes in patients with rheumatic conditions; however, their role in pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)–associated vasculitis (AAV) remains poorly understood. We aimed to evaluate whether race and ethnicity and household income are associated with severe AAV disease and renal outcomes among

Optimization Design of Centrifugal Fan Blades Based on Bézier Curve Method
In order to improve the aerodynamic performance of the voluteless centrifugal fan, a multi-objective optimization design system was established by combining parametric modeling, experimental design, surrogate models, and optimization algorithms, with the

Strategies to prevent ventilator-associated lung injury in critically Ill patients
Life-saving mechanical ventilation (MV) induces or exacerbates a range of pulmonary pathologies, collectively known as ventilator-induced lung injury if there is evidence of direct causation (i.e., in the research laboratory).

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...
