: ventilators for noninvasive ventilation

open access: yes, 2008
International audienceThe aim of the present study was to evaluate the performance characteristics of all the ventilators proposed for home noninvasive positive-pressure ventilation in children in France. The ventilators (one volume-targeted, 12 pressure-

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Are anesthesiologists and intensivists ready to fully working with domestically produced ventilators?

open access: yesВестник анестезиологии и реаниматологии
The objective was to determine the attitude of anesthesiologists and intensivists to the possibility of a complete transition to the use of domestic equipment for mechanical ventilation instead of imported ones.Materials and methods.

A bench study of intensive-care-unit ventilators: new versus old and turbine-based versus compressed gas-based ventilators.

open access: yes, 2009
International audienceOBJECTIVE: To compare 13 commercially available, new-generation, intensive-care-unit (ICU) ventilators in terms of trigger function, pressurization capacity during pressure-support ventilation (PSV), accuracy of pressure ...

Triggering of the Ventilator in Patient-Ventilator Interactions [PDF]

open access: yesRespiratory Care, 2011
With current ventilator triggering design, in initiating ventilator breaths patient effort is only a small fraction of the total effort expended to overcome the inspiratory load. Similarly, advances in ventilator pressure or flow delivery and inspiratory flow termination improve patient effort or inspiratory muscle work during mechanical ventilation ...

Onasemnogene Abeparvovec in Type I Spinal Muscular Atrophy: 24‐Month Follow‐Up From the Italian Registry

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Onasemnogene abeparvovec (OA) is an AAV9‐based gene therapy for spinal muscular atrophy type I (SMA I). Real‐world outcomes show increased response variability compared to clinical trials, and follow‐up data beyond 12–18 months are limited.

Adaptive Bayesian optimization for proportional derivative control in double-acting piston pump ventilators

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
Respiratory pandemics have intensified the global demand for low-cost mechanical ventilators, particularly in resource-constrained settings such as low- and middle-income countries.

Added Prognostic Value of EEG Reactivity in Comatose Patients Following Cardiac Arrest

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the added prognostic value of EEG reactivity for favorable outcome compared with background analysis during and after targeted temperature management (TTM). Methods Prospective observational cohort study of comatose post–cardiac arrest patients admitted to a single academic center between 2017 and 2022, all undergoing ...

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.
