Pharmacological Inhibition of FKBP51 Mitigates Early Life Adversity‐Induced Social Deficits in Male Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early life adversity triggers persistent social subordination and brain‐wide molecular dysregulation. Pharmacological inhibition of the stress‐mediator FKBP51 during the adversity period prevents these long‐term deficits and restores normative social hierarchy.

Second Ventilatory Threshold Assessed by Heart Rate Variability in a Multiple Shuttle Run Test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Many studies have focused on heart rate variability in association with ventilatory thresholds. The purpose of the current study was to consider the ECG-derived respiration and the high frequency product of heart rate variability as applicable methods to

All‐Flex Plasma Patch for In Vivo Delivery of Reactive Species

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fully flexible plasma patch enables stable, conformal treatment on complex biological surfaces and enhances transdermal delivery of reactive species. This platform achieves significant tumor suppression in vivo and reveals coordinated regulation of calcium signaling, metabolism, and programmed cell death, providing a promising strategy for safe and ...

Oxygen uptake attenuation at ventilatory threshold in men with coronary artery disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Purpose: Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2) and ventilatory threshold (VT) are widely used to assess cardiorespiratory fitness in healthy people, as well as in patients with various clinical conditions.

Solar‐Driven Bifunctional Adsorption‐Storage Films for Ultra‐Fast Dehumidification and Freshwater Supply in Low‐carbon Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bifunctional adsorption‐storage films enable autonomous indoor humidity regulation and freshwater harvesting, rapidly decreasing relative humidity from 90.7% to 21.6% within one hour while producing 1.1 kg·m−2·day−1 of water, offering a passive route towards energy‐efficient humidity control and sustainable indoor environments. ABSTRACT Indoor humidity

A Review of Failure Modes and Safety Strategies of Lithium‐Ion Batteries from Materials to Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cascade‐aware framework is presented for lithium‐ion battery safety, linking thermal runaway initiation, acceleration, runaway reaction, and propagation with material‐, cell/pack‐, and system‐level interventions. By integrating failure mechanisms, quantitative safety indicators, and staged interception strategies, this review highlights how safer ...

Delayed Acclimatization of the Ventilatory Threshold in Healthy Trekkers

open access: yesWilderness & Environmental Medicine, 2008
Objective To test the hypothesis that acclimatization to high altitude results in an improvement of the ventilatory threshold (VT). Methods Eight lowlanders underwent cardiopulmonary exercise testing with a cycle ergometer to determine VT and peak oxygen uptake (Vo2peak) in Coventry, United Kingdom (altitude: 80 m), on arrival in Leh, India (altitude ...

Real‐Time and Non‐Invasive Detection of Respiratory Viral Infections Using an Intelligent Odor Monitoring System (IOMS)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An intelligent odor monitoring system integrates an IVC animal model, gas sensor array, real‐time resistance readout, and machine‐learning analysis to continuously monitor infection‐associated odor changes. The platform captures longitudinal sensor responses, distinguishes infected from healthy states, and supports early‐stage respiratory viral ...
