Gel‐Amin for Improving Extracellular Recordings of Cardiomyocytes in a 3D Microphysiological System

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This work combines a conductive collagen‐based hydrogel with a laser‐cut and assembly technique to fabricate microphysiological systems that improve extracellular recordings of cardiomyocytes in 3D on microelectrode arrays. The inclusion of choline acrylate into GelMA imparts a higher electrical conductivity and improves the signal‐to‐noise ratio of on‐

Effect Differences of Omega‐3 Fatty Acids From Plant Oil and Fish Oil on Human Health

open access: yesAgriFood: Journal of Agricultural Products for Food, EarlyView.
Omega‐3 fatty acids in plant oil is no less than fish oil on human health. ALA in plant oil takes directly healthy effects without conversion to DHA and EPA. Plant oil can be substitutes for fish oil to support partial ω‐3 fatty acids. For people who cannot afford fish oil, plant oil is also good for public health.

Synthetic Electrocardiogram Spectrogram Generation Using Generative Adversarial Network‐Based Models: A Comparative Study

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Cardiovascular diseases are leading death causes; electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis is slow, motivating machine learning and deep learning. This study compares deep convolutional generative adversarial network, conditional GAN, and Wasserstein GAN with gradient penalty (WGAN‐GP) for synthetic ECG spectrograms; Fréchet Inception Distance (FID) and ...

Burden of cardiac arrhythmias in patients with acute myocardial infarction and their impact on hospitalization outcomes: insights from China acute myocardial infarction (CAMI) registry

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders
Background The coexistence of cardiac arrhythmias in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) usually exhibits poor prognosis. However, there are few contemporary data available on the burden of cardiac arrhythmias in AMI patients and their impact

Dexmedetomidine vs. propofol on arrhythmia in cardiac surgery: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundDexmedetomidine (DEX) and propofol are popular anesthetics, but it remains unknown whether DEX reduces the incidence of arrhythmias compared with propofol after cardiac surgery.MethodsWe performed a comprehensive search for RCTs (Randomized ...
