Achieving High‐Density and Stress‐Resilient Maize Breeding Via Germplasm Innovation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Global population growth and climate change have exacerbated the global food crisis. This perspective presents a conceptual framework focusing on enhancing population advantages. Several novel breeding objectives are proposed to improve density tolerance and stress resistance for yield improvement.

Max k-cut and judicious k-partitions

open access: yes, 2010
Alon, et al. (2003) [1] proved that every graph with a large cut has a bipartition in which each vertex class contains correspondingly few edges. We prove an analogous result for partitions into k≥3 classes; along the way we prove a result for biased ...

Multi‐scale Optimization on Interfacial Evaporative Cooling for Photovoltaic Performance Enhancement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a passive siphon‐driven interfacial evaporative cooling technology for photovoltaics. A multiscale multiphysics model is developed and validated experimentally. Results show that optimizing installation parameters reduces operating temperature by up to 22.3 °C and boosts power efficiency by 8.9%, offering a practical pathway for ...

Advanced Dental Composite Technology via Bisilanized Dual‐Action Nanofillers for Biofilm Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal research strategy has led to the development of an innovative resin‐based composite (RBC) with dual antibacterial action. The S_CM‐RBC formula showed strong antibiofilm activity, excellent mechanical strength, and biosafety. It effectively controlled oral bacteria in prevention of caries recurrence, and maintained pulp health in a rat ...

Paired coalition in graphs

open access: yesAKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics
A paired coalition in a graph [Formula: see text] consists of two disjoint sets of vertices [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], neither of which is a paired dominating set but whose union [Formula: see text] is a paired dominating set.

Shadow‐Calibrated Stereo Vision for Colorimetric Sweat Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By establishing a mathematical model that reconstructs 3D structures through geometric features of object shadows under controlled illumination, and combining it with Convolutional Neural Network‐based 2D image analysis for volumetric calibration, this work enables highly accurate 3D morphological reconstruction.

A characterisation of clique-width through nested partitions

open access: yes, 2015
International audienceClique-width of graphs is defined algebraically through operations on graphs with vertex labels. We characterise the clique-width in a combinatorial way by means of partitions of the vertex set, using trees of nested partitions ...

Janus‐Type Electrostatic Potential Gradient‐Activated Dynamic Zn2+‐Coordinating Nitrogen Sites in Molecularly Locked Nanocellulose Separators for Stable Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional benzimidazole‐terminated CNF separator is constructed via a PEI‐mediated covalent locking strategy, generating dense zincophilic sites that accelerate Zn2+ transport and desolvation while enabling uniform Zn (002) deposition and suppressing side reactions.

Defect Driven Electronic Structure Reconfiguration and Hierarchical Phonon Suppression in Ag2Se Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Indium substitution in Ag2Se nanocrystals simultaneously tailors electronic structure and lattice dynamics. Fermi‐level upshift and band‐gap narrowing enhance electrical transport, while defect‐induced lattice softening intensifies phonon scattering and suppresses lattice thermal conductivity.

Vertex operators, t-boson model and weighted plane partitions in finite boxes

open access: yes, 2018
We consider two different subjects: the algebra of Hall–Littlewood functions and t-boson model. Tsilevich and Sułkowski, respectively, give that the creation operator [Formula: see text] in the monodromy matrix of t-boson model can be represented by ...
