Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Experimental Study on Interface Model of Asphalt Pavement under Vertical Load

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Layered asphalt pavement makes the interlayer contact more complicated. In order to further understand the characteristics of interlayer interface of asphalt pavement under vehicle load, this paper analyzes the change rule of interlayer interface of ...

Geometrically nonlinear analysis of thin-walled composite box beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A general geometrically nonlinear model for thin-walled composite space beams with arbitrary lay-ups under various types of loadings has been presented by using variational formulation based on the classical lamination theory.

Load-Bearing Performance of a Reinforced Fill Structure with Pile Penetration

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Reinforcement soil slope with pile penetration is a new load bearing structure, which has a complex working mechanism, but few studies have been carried out. This paper aims to investigate the stability characteristics of this structure using model tests.

Load-settlement behaviour of model pile groups in sand under vertical load

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2017
Model pile load testing is effective to study the load-settlement behaviour of pile foundations given the controlled environment in which the testing is done. This paper reports a testing program in a large calibration chamber involving individual piles

Model Test and Back Analysis of Shield Tunnel Load Distribution in Soft Clay

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
Combined with the soft clay layer of Foshan metro, a back-analysis method combining model test and numerical simulation is developed. First, the similitude criterion for the model used in this study was derived from similarity theory and elasticity ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
