Vehicle Load Estimation Using the Reaction Force of a Vertical Displacement Sensor Based on Fiber Bragg Grating

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Accurately calculating the vehicle load acting on a bridge at any one time is crucial to determining the integrity and safety of the bridge. To ensure this integrity and safety, information on the types, characteristics, and load of vehicles that ...

Pengaruh Beban Vertikal terhadap Daya Dukung Lateral Pondasi Tiang [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Pile foundations are intended to hold both vertical and horizontal loads. Pile foundation design must take into account the lateral carrying capacity, especially on those that experience large lateral force.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Time Domain Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis of Vertically Loaded Tapered Pile in Layered Soils

open access: yesBuildings
A simplified model is proposed for predicting the nonlinear dynamic response of vertically loaded tapered piles in the time domain, in which the tapered pile is divided into several frustum segments and the four-spring is used for the simulation of the ...

Stresses induced by vertical rectangular uniform loads within ground based on Mindlin solution

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2018
The calculation of foundation settlement is usually based on the Boussinesq’s solution or Mindlin’s solution, which is suitable for considering the embedding depth to calculate the additional stress coefficient.

Flexural–torsional behavior of thin-walled composite space frames [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A general analytical model based on the first-order shear deformable beam theory applicable to thin-walled composite space frames with arbitrary lay-ups under external loads is presented.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Geometrically nonlinear theory of thin-walled composite box beams using shear-deformable beam theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A general geometrically nonlinear model for thin-walled composite space beams with arbitrary lay-ups under various types of loadings is presented. This model is based on the first-order shear deformable beam theory, and accounts for all the structural ...

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Evaluation of the Changes in Dimensions of the Footprint of Agricultural Tires under Various Exploitation Conditions

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper presents an innovative method to determine the impact of agricultural wheels on soil. The experiment was conducted under controlled conditions, and the parameters of the tire footprints on the soil were analyzed. The tested parameters were the
