The vertical transport of methane from different potential emission types on Mars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The contrasting evolutionary behavior of the vertical profile of methane from three potential release scenarios is analysed using a global circulation model with assimilated temperature profiles.

Ricci–Bourguignon Almost Solitons with Special Potential on Sasaki-like Almost Contact Complex Riemannian Manifolds

open access: yesMathematics
Almost contact complex Riemannian manifolds, also known as almost contact B-metric manifolds, are equipped with a pair of pseudo-Riemannian metrics that are mutually associated with each other using the tensor structure. Here, we consider a special class

The ellipsoidal corrections for boundary value problems of deflection of the vertical with ellipsoid boundary

open access: yesGeodesy and Geodynamics, 2017
The boundary value problem of deflections of vertical with ellipsoid boundary is studied in the paper. Based on spherical harmonic series, the ellipsoidal corrections for the boundary value problem are derived so that it can be well solved.

Ricci–Bourguignon Almost Solitons with Vertical Torse-Forming Potential on Almost Contact Complex Riemannian Manifolds

open access: yesMathematics
Almost contact complex Riemannian manifolds, also known as almost contact B-metric manifolds, are equipped with Ricci–Bourguignon-like almost solitons.

Potential for the Vertical Extension of Existing Buildings

open access: yes, 2022
Vertical extension” refers to the addition of new storeys above existing buildings and is increasingly recognised as a means of generating new useable floorspace whilst reducing resource extraction, waste generation and associated carbon emissions. Despite this, understanding of the potential for vertical extensions remains limited, with existing work ...

Integrated Study of Geotechnical and Geophysical Methods to Assess the Soil Corrosion Potential for Construction Site

open access: yesInternational Journal of Economic and Environment Geology, 2020
Corrosion of subsurface steel structures is very critical issue especially in moisture subsoil. The use of physiochemical properties such as pH, salts concentration, electrical resistivity is very common to quantify ...

Eccentricity samples: Implications on the potential and the velocity distribution [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Astronomical Journal, 2017
Planar and vertical epicycle frequencies and local angular velocity are related to the derivatives up to the second order of the local potential and can be used to test the shape of the potential from stellar disc samples.

Highly anisotropic scaling limits

open access: yes, 2015
We consider a highly anisotropic $d=2$ Ising spin model whose precise definition can be found at the beginning of Section 2. In this model the spins on a same horizontal line (layer) interact via a $d=1$ Kac potential while the vertical interaction is ...

Weak meson vertices and the hypernuclear potential

open access: yesFizika B : a journal of experimental and theoretical physics, 2001
This paper is a continuation of an earlier paper on hypernuclear potentials. A novel derivation of the hypernuclear strangeness-violating potential due to the pseudoscalar meson exchanges is presented. Comparison with the earlier method shows that the theoretical uncertainty is less than 30%.

Solar modulation in surface atmospheric electricity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The solar wind modulates the flux of galactic cosmic rays impinging on Earth inversely with solar activity. Cosmic ray ionisation is the major source of air’s electrical conductivity over the oceans and well above the continents.
