Variable Very High Energy γ-Ray Emission from Markarian 501 [PDF]
The blazar Mrk 501 was observed at energies above 0.10 TeV with the MAGIC Telescope from 2005 May through July. The high sensitivity of the instrument enabled the determination of the flux and spectrum of the source on a night-by-night basis.

Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Untersuchung der radialen Ionisationsdichteverteilung von schweren Ionen mit einer optischen Teilchenspurkammer und mit Monte-Carlo-Simulationen [PDF]
In the present work we applied the Optically read out PArticle track Chamber, OPAC, for the measurement of radial dose distributions, d(r), around tracks of heavy ions passing through the gas-filled sensitive volume of the chamber. The measured data were

Decomposition of purine nucleobases by very low energy electrons [PDF]
We show that low energy electrons effectively decompose the gas phase purine nucleobases adenine (A) and guanine (G) via dissociative electron attachment (DEA) involving low lying (

The extended jet of AP Librae: Origin of the very high-energy gamma-ray emission? [PDF]
The low-frequency peaked BL Lac object (LBL) AP Librae exhibits very-high-energy (VHE, $E>100$GeV) $\gamma$-ray emission and hosts an extended jet, which has been detected in radio and X-rays.

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Determination of the energy of suprathermal electrons during lower hybrid current drive on PBX-M [PDF]
Suprathermal electrons are diagnosed by a hard x-ray pinhole camera during lower hybrid current drive on PBX-M. The experimental hard x-ray images are compared with simulated images, which result from an integration of the relativistic bremsstrahlung ...
