Effect of Increasing Zearalenone Levels on the Technologically Problematic Microorganisms and Food Risky Pathogens (in Vitro)

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2021
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different zearalenone (ZEA) concentrations (0, 10, 100, 250, 500, 1 000 µg/l) on growth of Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas fluorescens in milk.

Improved wound bed preparation using a mono-use disposable hydrodebridement tool - case studies

open access: yesSenses and Sciences, 2018
Background. Wound preparation and cleanliness represent the first steps towards effective healing. Debridement can be the most traumatic procedure for the patient when wound dressing is being carried out.

Skin tears flap management in patient affected by dermatoporosis

open access: yesSenses and Sciences, 2018
BACKGROUND Dermatoporosis is the chronic cutaneous atrophy syndrome that makes the skin particularly fragile and it is the main risk factor in the onset of skin tears (ST). The syndrome is still little known in our country and the particularity acquired

Myocardial Viability Imaging using Manganese‐Enhanced MRI in the First Hours after Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2021
Early measurements of tissue viability after myocardial infarction (MI) are essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning but are challenging to obtain. Here, manganese, a calcium analogue and clinically approved magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

On the Viability of Energy Communities [PDF]

open access: yesThe Energy Journal, 2020
Following the development of decentralized production technologies, energy communities have become a topic of increased interest. While the potential benefits have been described, we use the framework of cooperative game theory to test the ability of such communities to adequately share the gains.

Seed germination performance of nine Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica L.) varieties under the laboratory condition after six months of storage period.

open access: yesCoffee and Cocoa Research Journal, 2020
Coffee seeds are classified into intermediate seeds which require high moisture content during the storage and possess a short shelf life. Seed germination testing aims to determine the potential of a seed lot, evaluate seed quality during the storage ...

A Criterion for the Viability of Stochastic Semilinear Control Systems via the Quasi-Tangency Condition [PDF]

open access: yesIMA Journal of Mathematical Control and Information (2011), 28: 391-415, 2008
In this paper we study a criterion for the viability of stochastic semilinear control systems on a real, separable Hilbert space. The necessary and sufficient conditions are given using the notion of stochastic quasi-tangency. As a consequence, we prove that approximate viability and the viability property coincide for stochastic linear control systems.
