Electronically controllable vibration damping device
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1992A vibration damping device includes first and second accelerometers which are used to determine the relative displacement between a body and a base between which the device is operatively connected. The output of one of the accelerometers is also monitored in a manner to determine the frequency of the vibration.

Piezoelectric Devices for Vibration Control on Flexible Structures
13th Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise: Structural Vibration and Acoustics, 1991Abstract A coupled numerical and experimental study, concerning the vibration control, on flexible structures by piezoelectric devices, is presented in this paper. More precisely we studied two cases of structure, a beam and a plate, in several configurations of excitation.

Process for controlling vibration damping force in a vibration damping device
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1996In order to develop sufficient vibration damping performance and effectively prevent transmission of goading vibrations and others in a vibration damping device using an electrorheological fluid, if the moving directions of vibration input side member and vibration output side member of the device are opposite to each other, a voltage applied to ...

CONTROL OF BUILDING VIBRATIONS WITH ACTIVE/PASSIVE DEVICES
Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics, 1996Two linear optimal control laws and a non-linear control strategy are critically evaluated. They are implemented in a ten-story frame structure. For the linear control laws, both an active bracing system and a hybrid mass damper are considered as control devices, while the non-linear control law can be implemented with either an active or semi-active ...

Control of beam vibrations by means of piezoelectric devices: theory and experiments
Composite Structures, 2000Abstract The problem of the attenuation of the vibration effects in active cantilever beams has been approached by two strategies, position and velocity control, which have been simulated numerically and analysed experimentally. The numerical simulation has been developed by means of a finite element approach based on an Euler–Bernoulli model and ...

Vibration Control Devices and their Application
2008The vibration control is of importance for preventing fractures of machines and structures. Recently various control methods have been developed. However, vibration control devices have not been discussed thoroughly. The present report introduces various vibration control devices developed in our laboratory[1]–[13].

A Vibration Device to Control Injection Discomfort.
Compendium of continuing education in dentistry (Jamesburg, N.J. : 1995), 2018Pain from local anesthesia injections can be reduced by distraction and counter-stimulation techniques. This study investigated the DentalVibe® Injection Comfort System (third-generation, DV3), developed to lessen anesthesia pain through pulsed vibration, a form of counter-stimulation.

Study on Vibration Control Device Using Power Generator
Volume 8: Seismic Engineering, 2006In this paper, the authors propose a vibration control device using power generator in order to develop a small damper which is suitable for structural vibration control in space. The vibration control device consists of a ball screw, piston, ball nut, gear, power generator, and rod ends.

Vibration Control with Nonlinear Rotating Inertial Mass Device
IABSE Reports, 2015<p>The authors have been carrying out numerical studies on the effect of a passive nonlinear absorber containing a rotating inertial mass (N-RIM). In this paper, the performance of this proposed absorber system when used for the base isolation of a building against strong earthquakes is presented. The N-RIM system consists of a strongly nonlinear
