Design of Laboratory Dynamic Balancing Device and Investigation of Vibrations of Rotating Bodies

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Technology and Applied Sciences, 2021
The rotor part to be balanced is mounted on the balancing device using a suitably designed fixture. When the rotor is rotated around its own axis, static and dynamic unbalance in the rotor, static and dynamic bending, which are simple harmonic movements in nature, cause oscillating motion.

Application of Vibration Signal Processing Methods to Detect and Diagnose Wheel Flats in Railway Vehicles

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
This paper studied two useful vibration signal processing methods for detection and diagnosis of wheel flats. First, the cepstrum analysis method combined with order analysis was applied to the vibration signal to detect periodic responses in the ...

Three-body QED test and fifth-force constraint from vibrations and rotations of HD+ [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2021
We present a parts-per-million test of quantum electrodynamics (QED) in the HD^{+} molecular hydrogen ion, improving on previous tests based on vibrational and rotational transitions by factors of 76 and 1.4, respectively. The test is performed following a unified statistical approach that also produces improved constraints on physics beyond the ...

Experimental study of coupled shaft bending - blade umbrella mode vibration of a turbine rotor model

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
This paper describes an experimental study on the characteristics of blade-shaft coupled bending vibration of a rotor system with a bladed disk. In a rotor with relatively long blades such as low-pressure steam turbines, the coupled vibration of shaft ...

Dynamic Modeling and Simulation of a Rotating Single Link Flexible Robotic Manipulator Subject to Quick Stops [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Single link robotic manipulators are extensively used in industry and research operations. The main design requirement of such manipulators is to minimize link dynamic deflection and its active end vibrations, and obtain high position accuracy during its

Dynamics Analysis of Rotating Cantilever Beams with Free End Mass

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
An improved modeling method for the dynamics analysis of rotating cantilever beams with free end mass is introduced. The proposed improved modeling method is based on the nonlinear Green strain theory in this study.

Calculation method for natural frequency of rotors considering load distribution in stepped parts

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2022
To improve the product performance of turbomachinery and ensure vibration reliability, we propose a method for predicting natural frequencies that considers the decrease in the stiffness of the rotor stepped part.
