Parameter Variation in Planetary Ball Milling of Titanium Aluminide Powder in XHV‐Adequate Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the effects of milling parameters, including rotational speed, milling duration, and ball‐to‐powder ratio, on TiAl particle size and morphology in an XHV‐equivalent atmosphere. The creation of oxide‐free surfaces enhances the mechanical properties of green bodies.

Mobility Matrix of a Thin Circular Plate Carrying Concentrated Masses Based on Transverse Vibration Solution

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2014
When calculating the vibration or sound power of a vibration source, it is necessary to know the point mobility of the supporting structure. A new method is presented for the calculation of point mobility matrix of a thin circular plate with concentrated

Application of the stability lobes theory to milling of thin workpieces, experimental approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The optimisation of cutting conditions in High Speed Machining (HSM) requires the use of a vibratory approach in order to avoid a fast deterioration of the tool and of the spindle, as well as a loss of quality of the surface rough- ness.

Explicit solution for vibrating bar with viscous boundaries and internal damper

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate longitudinal vibrations of a bar subjected to viscous boundary conditions at each end, and an internal damper at an arbitrary point along the bar's length.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Simulations and Experiments on the Vibrational Characteristics of Cylindrical Shell Resonator Actuated by Piezoelectric Electrodes with Different Thicknesses

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2017
The resonator is the key element of the Coriolis Vibratory Gyroscope (CVG). The vibrational characteristics of the resonator, including the resonant frequency, vibrational amplitude, and Q factor, have a great influence on CVG’s performance.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.
