Periodic motions and bifurcations of a vibro-impact system
Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2008Abstract Based on the analysis of a two-degree-of-freedom plastic impact oscillator, we introduce a three-dimensional map with dynamical variables defined at the impact instants. The non-linear dynamics of the vibro-impact system is analyzed by using the Poincare map, in which piecewise property and singularity are found to exist.

Dynamical behaviour of a controlled vibro-impact system
Chinese Physics B, 2008In this paper, we give a controlled two-degree-of-freedom (TDOF) vibro-impact system based on the damping control law, and then investigate the dynamical behaviour of this system. According to numerical simulation, we find that this control scheme can suppress chaos to periodic orbit successfully.

We shall examine some aspects of impact theory for solids [60, 80, 103, 115], limiting the analysis to those points necessary to understand the processes occurring in vibro-impact systems, and generate mathematical models for them. We shall mainly be interested in the force changes and the kinematic characteristics of the motion of solids and their ...

Piecewise analysis of oblique vibro-impacting systems
Acta Mechanica Sinica, 2003A great number of studies have shown the complex nonlinear dynamics of mechanical systems with repeated normal impacts. An oblique frictional impact introduces even more complicated dynamics such as stick-slip motions to those systems. Hence, the dynamics of oblique vibro-impacting systems with possible sliding motion is an open problem.

Autoresonant vibro-impact system with electromagnetic excitation
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2007Vibration is often used to improve the performance of material handling, processing or separation machinery. Linear suspension and sinusoidal motion of moving parts are usually employed in the design of these machines. A typical example would be vibrating screens used to grade gravel in sand and gravel extracting systems.

EXCITATION OF VIBRO-IMPACT SYSTEMS BY PERIODIC IMPULSES
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1999Linear mechanical systems with periodic impulse excitation are related to the classical area of dynamical analysis. The exact solutions obtained played an important role in mathematics and had numerous applications in vibration analysis and machine dynamics. The introduction of non-linear factors into the excited models makes integration impossible and

Dynamics of non-linear vibro-impact systems
1999Dynamical systems with unilateral constraints, turning on and off in their motion, have peculiarities associated with successive variation of their kinematical structure and change of their number of degrees of freedom. Description of their periodical vibrations should be performed via joint consideration of constitutive differential equations and a ...
