Vickers microindentation hardness test has been applied for a long time to determine the mechanical properties of a small volume of samples. The procedure of this hardness test consists of using a constant load on a rigid indenter and measuring the dimensions of the indenter residual impression (indentation imprint) on the surface of the sample tested ...

A new method for dating ancient steel samples using Vickers microhardness
Materials Characterization, 2004A simple, fast and economic method for age determination of steel samples is presented, based on the change of mechanical properties over time. The mechanical strength was determined by Vickers microhardness testing, finding a linear relationship in between this parameter and the age of the sample. For calibration, four different archaeological samples

Vickers and Knoop Microhardness for Single Crystals
The Vickers microhardness test is a well-known technique in materials science and engineering, designed to measure the hardness of materials at the microscale. The hardness method is critical for various mechanical properties, such as hardness, plasticity, and fracture toughness, and it has the ability to measure microhardness accurately across a broadopenaire +1 more source

Effect of artificial accelerated aging on Vickers microhardness of composite resins.
General dentistry, 2009Successful restoration depends on the mechanical resistance of dental restorative materials. The occlusal forces from masticatory contacts can affect the durability of restorations and cause fractures. Over time, monomers convert to polymers, leading to degradation of the organic matrix, which can interfere with mechanical resistance. This study sought
