Southern Portugal hydroclimate of the last millennium from near‐annually resolved speleothem records

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydroclimate in Portugal is influenced by the North Atlantic subtropical high‐pressure system (the Azores High) and by internal climate modes, most prominently the North Atlantic Oscillation, which may shift in position and/or intensity due to anthropogenic climate change.

Post‐Fire Soil Organic Carbon Dynamics: Decline and Recovery Over Two Decades

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Wildfire can significantly alter soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics in forest ecosystems, with complex temporal patterns following fire events. However, research on post‐fire SOC recovery remains limited, particularly in dry‐warm valley regions that are prone to frequent forest fires.

How Servicescapes Come to Feel Like Home: Reciprocal Social Exchange and the Development of Third Place Perceptions

open access: yesPsychology &Marketing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Amid rising loneliness and declining community participation, service environments have become increasingly important sites of everyday social interaction. Existing research has largely treated Third Place as a property of a space, leaving unexplored how individual customers come to perceive a servicescape as a social home.

Structural Performance of Hybrid Fiber–Metal Laminates Reinforced With Natural and Synthetic Fibers: Tensile, Dynamic–Mechanical, and Residual Stress Behavior

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Hybrid fiber‐metal laminates combining aluminum with carbon, glass, and sisal/epoxy layers. Sisal fibers maintained strength, improved strain and thermal stability, and reduced residual stresses with less synthetic fiber. ABSTRACT This work studied how hybridization between natural and synthetic fibers influences the structural tensile performance ...

Understanding Light‐Soaking Effects in Silicon Solar Cells by Considering Charge Carrier‐Enhanced Atomic Hydrogen Release

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, EarlyView.
We show that many hydrogen‐related effects in silicon solar cells can be explained by direct electron‐assisted acceptor‐hydrogen pair dissociation. Most importantly, it leads to a high concentration of atomic hydrogen, which is highly reactive and diffusive. We provide a unified physical description of LeTID.
