Current Shaping in a Hybrid 12-Pulse Rectifier Using a Vienna Rectifier

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2018
This paper presents a hybrid rectifier consisting of a 12-pulse rectifier in parallel with a Vienna rectifier. In the proposed structure, the 12-pulse rectifier supplies the bulk power to the load, whereas the Vienna rectifier shapes the input current to reduce its harmonic distortion.

Comparative study of VIENNA rectifier topologies

International Journal of Power Electronics, 2015
VIENNA rectifier is a three-phase three-level boost converter used for active power factor correction (APFC) applications. It utilises an AC switching element in combination with diodes and capacitor to realise it. Three variants of this converter can be arrived at depending on how the AC switching element is realised.

A novel low‐complexity model predictive control for Vienna rectifier

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2023
SummaryA Vienna rectifier is a kind of three‐phase converter with complex operation constraints. Traditional control methods suffer from poor dynamic responses and total harmonic distortion (THD), particularly when operating with adjustable wide‐range power.

Vienna Rectifier With Power Quality Added Function

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2014
The aim of this paper is to introduce power quality added function to the standard Vienna rectifier in order to compensate reactive power and to cancel current-type harmonics drawn by nonlinear loads connected to the same point of common coupling. A theoretical investigation that demonstrates the ability of such topology to compensate harmonics and ...

Predictive Control of Vienna Rectifiers for PMSG Systems

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2017
This paper proposes the predictive control of Vienna rectifiers for permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs). Vienna rectifiers are used as the generator-side converter of the power conversion system using PMSGs. In this paper, the proposed predictive control is applied to Vienna rectifiers.
