Vigor of reaching, walking and gazing movements: on the consistency of inter-individual differences.

open access: yesJournal of Neurophysiology, 2019
Movement vigor is an important feature of motor control that is thought to originate from cortico-basal ganglia circuits and processes shared with decision-making such as temporal reward discounting.

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

Effect of different noise reduction techniques and template matching parameters on markerless tumor tracking using dual‐energy imaging

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the impact of various noise reduction algorithms and template matching parameters on the accuracy of markerless tumor tracking (MTT) using dual‐energy (DE) imaging. Methods A Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator was used to acquire a series of alternating 60 and 120 kVp images (over a 180° arc) using fast kV switching, on ...

Super-Resolution of Plant Disease Images for the Acceleration of Image-based Phenotyping and Vigor Diagnosis in Agriculture

open access: yesItalian National Conference on Sensors, 2017
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or drones) are a very promising branch of technology, and they have been utilized in agriculture—in cooperation with image processing technologies—for phenotyping and vigor diagnosis.

The roles and applications of extracellular vesicles in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are minute versions of cells limited by a lipid bilayer containing cytoplasm from the cell that releases them, but without a nucleus and thus unable to self‐reproduce. EVs contain multiple molecules (proteins, lipids, glycans, and nucleic acids) they can induce complex responses in cells.

Evaluation of an EPID in vivo monitoring system using local and external independent audit measurements

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose The aim of this work was to evaluate the SunCHECK PerFRACTION, the software for in vivo monitoring using EPID images. Materials/Methods First, the PerFRACTION ability to detect errors was investigated simulating two situations: (1) variation of LINAC output and (2) variation of the phantom thickness.

Predicting potato plant vigor from the seed tuber properties [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The vigor of potato plants, defined as the canopy area at the end of the exponential growth stage, depends on the origin and physiological state of the seed tuber. Experiments carried out with six potato varieties in three test fields over three years show that there is a 73%-90% correlation in the vigor of the plants from the same seedlot grown in ...

An Interaction between Serotonin Receptor Signaling and Dopamine Enhances Goal-Directed Vigor and Persistence in Mice

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience, 2018
The functionally selective 5-HT2C receptor ligand SB242084 can increase motivation and have rapid onset anti–depressant-like effects. We sought to identify the specific behavioral effects of SB242084 treatment and elucidate the mechanism in female and ...

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′
