Two Lineages of DS‐1‐Like G3P[8] Human Rotaviruses in Sabah, Malaysia: Genetic Diversity and Evidence of Reassortment

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 98, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Group A rotavirus (RVA) genotype G3P[8] strains typically carry a Wa‐like genomic backbone, but DS‐1‐like G3P[8] reassortants have disseminated globally since 2013. In Sabah, Malaysia, surveillance in 2018–2019 identified frequent G3P[8] strains with a short RNA electropherotype, consistent with DS‐1‐like backbones.

Decision aid reduces caregivers' preference for acid‐suppressive medication in infants with symptoms suggestive of reflux

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Volume 83, Issue 2, Page 258-264, August 2026.

Vomiting symptom of acute gastroenteritis estimated from epidemiological data can help predict river contamination by human pathogenic enteric viruses

open access: yesEnvironment International, 2019
Contamination of fresh water bodies by human enteric viruses from wastewater discharge is a well-established phenomenon. Here we propose a model of viral contamination of rivers based on acute gastroenteritis epidemiology and assess how well it can ...

Intragastric Balloon Treatment Enhances Weight Maintenance Adjunct to Low‐Energy Diet and Group‐Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 8, Page 7300-7311, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Low‐energy diet (LED) plus cognitive‐behavioural therapy (CBT) produces substantial short‐term weight loss in obesity, but long‐term maintenance remains difficult. We evaluated whether adding intragastric balloon (IGB) treatment to group‐based CBT improves weight maintenance after initial weight loss using LED.

Healthy Children Like and Ingest an Amino Acid‐Fortified Oral Rehydration Solution With Added Sweetener, Flavor, and Color: A Psychophysical Study

open access: yesJournal of Sensory Studies, Volume 41, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Increasing acceptance of bitter stimuli is important for the health of pediatric patients who must consume bitter medicines or nutritional interventions. The aim of this study was to determine if children age 6 months to 5 years accept an amino acid (AA)‐supplemented oral rehydration therapy (ORT) that contains multiple bitter tasting AAs ...
