Inhibition of Banzi Viral RNA Synthesis in BHK-21 Cells by Banzi Virion Matrix Protein
Treatment of BHK-21 cells with purified matrix (M) protein isolated from Banzi virions resulted in decreased production of Banzi virus and in reduced levels of virus-specific positive-strand and negative-strand RNA. The M protein had no effect on the uncoating of the viral genome.
